There are some techniques I didn't use to make this jeans as I didn't want to make it too complicated for my first time. But it turns out so good.
So I hope you can get come inspiration out of it. Let’s get started!
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
2m of silk cream denim fabric

MAKING THE PATTERNS
Here’s the pattern for the project. To get a clear understanding of all the measurements needed for the pattern, watch the video from 0:42 to 9:16.
Remember, you can adjust these measurements to fit your own dimensions!
THE FRONT PATTERN
The back bodice pattern
To make the front pattern, draw a rectangle with 23 cm width which is a quarter of your hip size and 100 cm length which is the length of the jeans from 2 cm above the belly button to the ankle.
From the top width line which is the top of the front jeans, draw a straight line at 30 cm under it, it's a quarter of your hip size plus 7 cm. It's the height of the waist jeans that you want.
From the top of this new line, extend it 3.6 cm which is 1 per 20 your hip size minus 1 cm. After that, mark in the middle of the new straight line before drawing a horizontal line to that mark and cut 2 width lines of rectangle.
From the first straight line, keep drawing another one 8.7 cm next to it, it's 1 per 10 your hip size minus 0.5 cm. It's also the position of the biggest part of your butt.
From the cutting point on the top width line, mark inside 7.5 cm which is 1 per 8 your waist size minus 1 cm.
Mark to the other side 9.5 cm which is one per 8 your waist size plus 1 cm so the width between 2 marks will be 17 cm which is a quarter of your waist size.
Then connect the inside mark to the top of the second straight line and finish at the top of the first one. Based on it, draw a slightly curved line to create the crotch line of the front jeans.
From the top of the crotch line, mark down 1 cm then connect it to the other mark on the top width line to create a waistline of the front jeans.
From the cutting point on the bottom width line which is the ending line of the jeans, mark to 2 sides of it at 12 cm, which is a quarter of the width of the leg jeans minus 1 cm, so the width between two marks will be 24 cm which is a half width of the leg jeans.
From the top width line, draw another straight line at 55 cm from it, it's a half of the length of the jeans plus 5 cm, it's the position of the knee.
From the cutting point on this line, mark to 2 sides of it at 12 cm, which is a quarter of the width of the leg jeans minus 1 cm so the width between two marks will be 24 cm which is a half of the width of the leg jeans minus 2 cm. It's the same width at the end of the jeans to create a straight leg jeans.
Then connect the ends of these lines together to create the inside leg line and the sideline for the front pattern. Redraw them a bit to make them nicer.
From the waistline, draw another line at 3 cm under it, it's the width of the waistband of the jeans that you want. Add 1 cm for seam allowance after that, except 2 cm at the ending line and we will have the front pattern after cutting.
THE FRONT POCKET PATTERN
THE INSIDE POCKET PATTERN
The inside pocket pattern
To make the front pocket pattern, draw a rectangle with 13 cm width, which is the width of the front pocket that you want and 20 cm length which is the length of the front pocket.
Apply the rectangle to the top of the front pattern to copy the sideline.
Then cut it later to create the inside pattern of the front pocket.
THE OUTSIDE POCKET PATTERN
At the front pattern, mark at 9 cm on the waistline from the top sideline, it's the width of the open part of the front pocket. Also mark down 6 cm on the sideline which is the depth of the front pocket then draw a curved line to connect two marks together.
Add 1 cm for seam allowance before cutting. After that, copy this curved line to the inside pocket pattern to create the outside pocket pattern.

THE BACK PATTERN
The back pattern
Draw a rectangle with 24 cm width which is a quarter of your hip size plus 1 cm and 100 cm length which is the length of the jeans, it's the same length at the front pattern.
From the top width line, draw a straight line at 30 cm under it, it's a quarter of my your size plus 7 cm, it's the height of the waist of the jeans that you want.
Extend this line 9.2 cm, which is 1 per 10 my hip size, then mark in the middle of the new line before drawing a horizontal line through that mark and cut two width lines.
From the cutting point at the top width line, mark down 2 cm then draw a straight line from it. The width of this line will be 4.6 cm which is 1 per 20 your hip size.
From the first straight line, draw another one at 8.7 cm next to it, it's one per 10 your hip size minus 0.5 cm, it's also the position of the biggest part of your butt.
Extend the extra part of the first straight line 1 cm first then connect the top of this line to the top of the second straight line and finish at the top of the waistline. Based on it, draw a curved line to create a crotch line of the back jeans.
From the top of the crotch line, draw a slanted light 17 cm width which is a quarter of your waist size and cut the top width line. This will be the waistline of the back jeans.
From the cutting point on the bottom with line which is the ending line of the jeans, mark to two sides of it 14 cm, it's a quarter of the width of the leg jeans plus 1 cm, so the width between two marks will be 28 centimeter which is a half of the width of the leg jeans plus 2 cm.
From the top width line, draw another straight line at 55 cm under it, it's a half of the length of the jeans plus 5 cm, it's also the position of the knee.
From the cutting point on this new line, mark at 14 cm to 2 sides of it, it's a quarter of the width of the leg jeans plus 1 cm, so the width between two marks will be 28 centimeter which is a half of the width of the leg jeans plus 2 cm. It's the same width at the end of the jean to create a straight leg jeans.
Then connect the ends of these lines together to create inside leg line and the sideline. Make sure they will be the same as the front jeans that you make before so you can connect them together later.
From the waistline, draw another line at 3 cm under it, it's the width of the waistband of the jeans that you want. Then add 1 cm for seam allowance after that except 2 cm at the ending line and we will have the back pattern of the jeans after cutting.
THE TOP PATTERN OF THE BACK JEANS
As the jeans won't have the dart at the back you need to create a new top part area to cover that dart. From the top of the sideline, mark down 3 cm.
From the top of the crotch line, mark down 6 cm then connect two marks together. After cutting by this line don't forget to add 1 cm for seam allowance for the lower part of the back pattern.
At the top part, divide the waistline into three equal parts first then draw the straight lines from these marks down to the lower line.
From the first marks, make two more marks at 0.5 cm next to them then connecting them to the end of the straight line next to them. When cutting this slanted lines, don't cut them completely off the top pattern.
After that, move the slanted lines to the straight lines then copy the new pattern. Redraw them a bit after that to make it nicer.
Make sure the total width of the top line will be 19 cm which is a quarter of your waist size plus 2 cm for seam allowance. Then add 1 cm for seam allowance at the lower line and we will have the top pattern of the back jeans after cutting.

SEWING THE JEANS
THE FRONT JEANS
Connect the outer piece of the front pocket to the curved line of the front jeans. Stitch securely along this line.
Make a few small cuts along the curved line.
Turn the outer pocket inside the front jeans and stitch the second seam to secure the pocket in place.
Connect the inside piece of the pocket to the outside piece. Stitch along the top and side of the pocket to connect it to the front jeans.
Attach the zipper to the front jeans at the crotch line with a 20cm middle zipper using the new technique.
Connect the remaining part of the crotch line.
THE BACK JEANS
Connect the top part of the back jeans to the bottom part. Stitch securely along the first seam.
Create two additional seams outside the first seam.
Cut out the back pockets for the jeans.
Use an iron to create folds at the back pocket edges.
Place the pockets on the back jeans, right under the top part.
Ensure the pockets are straight and parallel to the waistline before stitching.
Connect the two pieces of the back jeans together at the crotch line. Stitch carefully to secure the seams.
CONNECT THE FRONT AND BACK
Connect the front and back of the jeans together at the inside leg lines and stitch them together.
Create two additional seams outside the first seam for a more finished look.
Stitch the side seams together.
Draw a line 4 cm above the ending lines of your jeans.
Fold the end of the fabric inside by about 1 cm and fold again to the line you drew.
Stitch along this line to create a clean hem.
CONNECT THE WAISTBAND
Cut a rectangle with a length of 8 cm and a width that's 2 cm longer than the total width of your waistline.
Pin one width line of the rectangle to the waistline of your jeans.
To create the belt loops, cut rectangles with a width of 2 cm and a length of 10 cm.
Fold the two side lengths of the rectangle to the middle and stitch them together.
Attach one end of the belt loop to the middle of the waistband between the jeans and the waistband. Sew all of them together.
Fold the top of the waistband in half and stitch it down.
Turn the waistband inside out to hide the seam.
Fold the other side of the rectangle inside by about 1 cm and fold it again to the first seam.
Stitch along this line to create the second seam.
Attach the other ends of the belt loops to the top of the waistband.
Add buttons and create buttonholes at both ends of the waistband.
I made my first pair of jeans (High waisted straight leg jeans)
And that’s the finished DIY! These high-waisted straight leg jeans turned out even better than I expected.
I love how these jeans make my legs look longer. I paired them with a draped crop top, which I actually hacked from my glider dress.
I hope you found my step-by-step guide helpful and inspiring.
